EXTREMELY IMPORTANT FOR HOMEOWNERS TO READ, WHY YOU NEED TO HIRE A ROOFER WITH A CRITICAL EYE FOR HAIL

If you file a claim, because your roofer told you to.  Then the insurance adjuster comes out and sees no hail, but one of the two things or both things happen.  First, the insurance company takes the claim as a filed claim.  Usually putting in more then two claims in two years works against the homeowner.  Second, they see damage that is less then your deductible, and so they are requiring you to fix.  If you do not you will lose your insurance companies help the next time they come if the repair is not done, no claim will be excepted.

Many times, evidence of hail exists.  The existence of hail does not always make a roof damaged.  Please see the following pictures.  The following are pictures of hail damage but it does not effect the integrity of the roof, known as cosmetic damage.

I have seen many roofers have homeowners file insurance claims based damages that are cosmetic, here are some examples...

This is most likely a bruise by a hail, but mostly likely has made no impact on the roof

This is hail too, but this is not damage to the roof, it just looks ugly.

You can use this as supporting evidence of hail. but this is cosmetic damage too.
Now here is real hail damage

Some hails slice through the shingles others do not

This is ideally what needs to be seen

Man Hit By Hail

In this picture you will see a man holding a board of wood, this is the plywood that is under the shingles of the house.  The hail came struck the roof, tore through the shingles, broke through the wood, and then came down hit the man leaving a dark red/purple bruise.  That's what a single big hail can do.

If your property gets hit by hail, contact a roofing company like us quickly, because waiting too long can make the evidence go away.  Call us 817 381 6855 to schedule a free appointment today.

Get a Metal Roof At No Cost For Your 1% Deductible

Well meaning sales people go door to door, giving the same basic pitch.  To replace you roof at no cost to the home owner, for a trade of the deductible for a sign in the yard.  True, there are some variances to this story.  Most roofing companies are well meaning, and most sales people deliver what they promise.
What can our company do to really add value and be different?  There are few things we have developed that make us different, but one the most important ones is that we offer a metal roof, for anyone who has a 1% deductible with an approved claim.
Even among all the metal roofs, there are many choices.  We will go over these choices.  A metal roof will save your energy bill, it will save your insurance costs when you let them know you got a metal roof (What an upgrade), it will get you tax credits, etc.

Did your Insurance Company Deny Your Hail Damage Claim?

There are cases where even when the neighborhood of an area, has had hail damage, and most of the roofs have been replaced (or many), still the insurance adjuster denies the claim.  The fact is, Even though hail damage in the U.S. is widespread and costly, there is a lack of uniform criteria for identifying wind and hail damage in the industry. Although severe hail damage is easy to identify, roofs may be damaged to a lesser degree, and inspectors from different backgrounds sometimes disagree about what is and what isn’t hail damage.

If inspectors were to use the same criteria for identifying damage, then there’s a good chance of reducing disagreement, as well as confusion for homeowners who are looking to these professionals for guidance and help.  So, it is worth while to consider to do a reclaim if the homeowner or a contractor strongly feel that the claim was unjustly denied.  Also, different companies have a different criteria for what would suffice for hail damage.  Some will accept 8 hail marks in a square, and others 10 in a square.  Sometimes, these policies are set by the insurance company and sometimes by the adjuster himself.  Either way, while there is always marks on the roof that can be argued about, if it is or is not hail, or if this is enough hail damage, etc.  So, it is important to consider to do a reclaim, or a new claim if enough time has passed.
