The True Problem of Cheap Roofs

Please read the following and at least thing about it....

I can sell cheap roofs, after all roof is a grudge sale most the time. No one likes to buy a roof, that is why everyone looks for the cheapest price. Its a shame, because I see more then 30% of the roofs have one installation issue or another. I have over 21 certifications, and my company is a Master Shingle Certified company. Is really worth it to save an extra $500 bucks and get a faulty roof, in some ways the most important part of your home investment? What are some common installation issues?

Most important advice and fact:

(All these installation issues can be solved by paying your crews a little more, (skilled workers who are in demand, charge the market rate) [ONE OF THESE HAPPENS FOR SURE IF THE RATE IS TOO LOW] 1) they are not going to put there heart into it when they know they are not being paid the market rate, but they take the job because its the only way to make a quick buck), 2) The materials are cheaper then they are supposed to be, or some materials are left out.

1. Nailing to high - Causes Shingles to blow off
2. Seams to close - Causes Leaks
3. Nailing to close to the valley - Causes Leaks
4. Cutting the ridge open to wide for the ridge vent
5. Low or Exposed Nails
6. Inccorrectly installed chimney flashing or the lack of.
7. Nail pressure to high causing the nails to blow through
8. Missing nails - commonly found when the racking method is used
9. Nails to short - especially when installing ridge vent.
10. Installing shingles over wood decking/planks that have a 1/4 inch gap or more
11. Using tar on neoprene pipe boots or chimney flashing / tar isn't meant to be exposed to the u.v. rays. That's why shingles have ceramic granules. Protect the tar.
12....and many many more

You will get all kinds of different Opinions on what shingle is the best. It's always a huge
argument. The one Fact that we all agree and have witnessed.... Roofs get torn
off all the time from installation errors. We just completed a roof that was installed from a
contractor only 3 months ago. 3,000 spent on that contractor, and around 6,000 now spent
to remove it and do it correctly. So the 3 bids/estimates.....pick the lowest one... doesn't work. You get what you pay for. Especially in the roofing industry. Call show contact info
